Board of Deacons

When the Pilgrims came to Plymouth Rock, their leader was Elder William Brewster. He was the spiritual leader of that devout band of Christians, although he was not an ordained minister. At the time, the title "Elder" was synonymous with that office. Today we call them "Deacons".   The word "Deacon" means servant, or one who serves. Every church needs those willing to stand on the front line as spititual leaders. In addition to modeling the Christian faith at work, Deacons have the vital responsibility to enlist, encourage and equip others like themselves to be the church in mission. Our Deacons handle such responsibilities as making all necessary preparations for the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism and assisting the Pastor in their administration. They also appoint and direct numerous ministry teams to meet the needs of the church.   The current members of the Board of Deacons:   Dan Moore, Chairman Bev Mansell Phil Hopkins etc.....
